Today with the expertise of our resident makeup pro, Krissy, we're going to go over a few of this seasons top makeup trends, along with what hair to wear them with!
First off, here's what we've been seeing based on SS'12 runway looks:
Following suit with recent retro hairstyles, winged eyeliner is EVERYWHERE! Fear not this fierce look, Ferricchia-ites! Wear your wings as wide as you want, or as mild for the wild-weary. Showcase a sharp wing with nearly any hairstyle, as long as the bulk of the hair is away from your face, and keep other makeup minimal.
A light wing at Dior ss'12, Karlie Kloss.
An even quieter liner.
Badgley Mischka taking it to the max.
So how do you create a perfect lined wing?
Krissy says, "Concentrate not on creating a straight line, but instead gently press the liner into the lash line. Doing this allows you to control the shape of the liner, gradually building your line, rather than trying to accomplish the impossible. For the wing, start with where you want your point to end, connecting the point with the established lash line."
If you'd prefer to focus more on luscious lip, go bold with color, and soft with application. Lip stains are an excellent way to get a subtle wash of color for that plush "I just ate a popsicle" pout. This is the makeup equivalent to a wash and go hairstyle; SO EASY!
"I blot a dot of lipstick or stain on the center of my lips and then layer balm on top," shares Krissy, to create a sheer pop of color. Dab some on after a tinted moisturizer (with SPF!!!), and you'll be looking fresh FAST! Note that hair is kept natural and unfussy to keep this look grounded and fun.

Another fast and easy way to freshen up your look is by filling in your brows. Statement brows were all over the spring/summer '12 runways. This may sound intimidating, but its actually a super quick trick to add structure and focus to your face!
"Look for a pencil that is slightly lighter than your natural brows. You're not trying to darken them, just fill them in," says Krissy, "Use light strokes to avoid creating a harsh line."
Supplement your statement brows with subtle bronzer/highlighter to truly contour your gorgeous geometry. Again, work with natural texture and beachy waves to contrast a more structured face.
